Hello Hello
Today I have an older share for you. I created this tiny weekend recap folio about 4 years ago when I first purchased Tim Holtz Sizzix envelop die. I was quite honestly just messing around but I loved the concept that became it so I may be doing something along this line again
The papers are from My Mind's Eye Simple Stories I believe and I want to say maybe even a Tim Holtz kraft pattern but I can't remember for certain, all I know is that I was going for a very basic, muted tone so that if I decided to add in photos later they wouldn't clash with the whole
One of the elements I love the most on this piece is the closure; I used a Tim Holtz hitch post (these metal embellishments are just freakin' cool as are most of what Tim pulls out of his creative brain) on the front cover and then through the back cover I looped a hair tie that catches that post in the front, pretty nifty and super easy. I did re-enforce my hole on the back cover with an eyelet before looping the hair band through - the thought is that it would last a bit longer depending on how full this tiny tot gets
My next favorite bit is the two card pieces that pull out from the envelop pages - there is one for Saturday and one for Sunday and each of them has their own closure as well. Not sure where I came up with the idea but I love the bobby pin with the hanging chipboard tag, it makes it an interactive piece and definitely a more interesting piece
The inside of both of these pull outs are blank with a paper clip in each, which gives me lots of room to jot down some memories from our weekend away but also a place to tuck an Instax photo if I'd like or of course I could choose to adhere a photo to one of the blank pages. Also I could adhere my photos to the inside covers leaving me the paper clips to tuck a movie stub or a merchandise receipt
As for the inside covers of the folio - well I took some liberties - I added in a few quote cards that were in with my Simple Stories line, I stuck with loving quotes because I'm hoping that if we ever get a weekend away it will be a kid-free weekend...hint hint Bill if you're reading this...
And of course I couldn't deny myself one more spot to jot down any last minute tidbits or maybe something funny from the trip home or could be a spot to jot down a run down of what our girls did while we were gone, I don't know yet but either way it's given me a bit more room to expand on the whole and that is good stuff
So there you have it for today folks, hope you are thinking of some weekend get-aways cuz' I could sure use one right about now.
Alright that's all I have for today - hope you all are wonderful and enjoying yourselves. I thank you for stoppin' in and seeing what I had to share today, hope you like it and hope you'll stop in again soon
Thanks!
just B
